- Shooting: Player’s practice shooting the ball with proper form, often using smaller, lighter basketballs to accommodate their size and strength.
- Basic Defense: Children are introduced to basic defensive concepts, such as staying between their opponent and the basket.
Learning about Teamwork
- Team Activities: Drills and games are designed to require cooperation and communication among players. Emphasis is placed on working together rather than individual performance.
- Support and Encouragement: Coaches and parents are encouraged to provide positive reinforcement, highlighting the importance of supporting teammates and celebrating everyone's contributions.
- Sharing the Ball: Players are taught the value of passing and sharing the ball to ensure that everyone gets a chance to participate and enjoy the game.
Having Fun
- Game-Like Drills: Practices often include fun, game-like drills that keep the children engaged and excited about playing basketball.
- Mini-Games: Short, informal games are played to give kids a taste of real gameplay without the pressure of competition.
- Skill-Building Games: Activities such as relay races, dribbling challenges, and shooting contests are used to develop skills in an enjoyable and playful environment.
- Positive Environment: The overall atmosphere is kept light and positive, with the primary goal being for children to have fun and develop a love for the game.
